Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in tactical security operations and riot control, with a solid background in law enforcement, preferably from a police or similar agency.
- PSIRA registered (relevant grade as required for the role)
- Security management: strong knowledge of security operations, risk management, and compliance with industry standards
- Intervention management: proven ability to lead intervention, tactical, and riot-control teams, including deployment planning, crisis response, and high-risk operations
- Proven leadership experience with strong team management skills, able to coordinate and motivate large teams across various operations
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities are essential, especially when liaising with local authorities and security forces
Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Responsible for enforcing and adhering to the company disciplinary code of conduct, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for managing expenditure and costs (overtime, CAPEX, uniforms, fuel, etc.).
- Responsible for managing deployments and co-ordinating essential actions required for successful deployment
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining action plans to ensure the safety of staff, assets, and property.
Crisis Management
- Responsible for leading high-risk situations, including riots, public disturbances, and emergencies, ensuring rapid response and effective resolution
Liaise with Authorities
- Responsible to act as the primary liaison with SAPS (South African Police Service), local authorities, and disaster management, ensuring seamless coordination during incidents
Training and Development
- Responsible for audit requests and act as the primary liaison for internal and external payroll audits
Staff & Resource Management
- Responsible for managing staff schedules, time and attendance, leave schedules, postings, redeployments, and overtime
- Responsible for overseeing firearms management in the region, including regulation 21 training and renewal of firearm licenses
